WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A massive community fundraiser wrapped up this past week to support people fighting cancer, but the people behind it say they are not done yet.
A group of seven people dedicated themselves to raising money for Blood Cancer United, formerly known as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The group raised more than $441,000. Organizers said their goal was to reach $500,000 to meet the needs of families in the community.
“It really touches my heart that they have taken this upon themselves to fundraise for such a good organization, and as you know it takes a lot of time away from your family,” said Pam Hildebrand, this year’s Honored Hero, who has used the nonprofit for support. “It’s incredible that they want to continue.”…
