Encore Performance of ‘One Man’s Dream’ by Grateful Crane at SEJSCC

The Grateful Crane Ensemble will present an encore performance of “One Man’s Dream” on Saturday, June 20, at Southeast Japanese School and Community Center, 14615 Gridley Rd., Norwalk.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Dinner at 6:15 p.m. and show at 7 p.m.

First performed in January, “One Man’s Dream” tells the story of Issei pioneer Juichi Nawa and how, in the mid-1920s, he gave his permission to build a Japanese school on his farmland because he wanted to pass on the Japanese language and culture to the Nisei and future generations.

Because of his vision, the school still exists today, and has also become a vibrant community center serving Nikkei from both Los Angeles and Orange counties…
