Lee County to experience temporary road closure for cross-drain replacement

OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL) — The Lee County Highway Department has announced that Lee County will experience a road closure staring at 8 a.m. CST on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

According to the Lee County Highway Department, a section of Lee County Road 166 will close for two days for a cross-drain replacement The closure will run for roughly 01. miles north of the intersection of Lee Road 166 and Lee Road 147.

Officials say motorists needing to travel north along Lee Road 166 will have to take an alternative route. The Lee County Highway Department recommends at the intersection of Lee Road 166 and Lee Road 147, to travel east on Lee Road 147 for roughly 1.8 miles to the intersection of Lee Road 147 and Alabama Highway 169.

After this, motorists will turn left onto Alabama Highway 169 and travel north for roughly 2 miles to the intersection of Alabama Highway 169 and Lee Road 166. To travel south, motorists will take this same route in the opposite direction, according to officials…
