The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is pushing back against a viral social media warning that claims women are being targeted by strangers offering perfume samples as part of a kidnapping scheme.
Deputies say they are not aware of any verified incidents of the alleged tactic occurring in Randolph County. The sheriff’s office also noted that similar warnings have circulated online for years in various forms, typically without confirmed details or supporting law enforcement reports.
