LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The University of Kentucky Police Department hosted its leg of the law enforcement torch run Friday. Officers carried the “Flame of Hope” in support of Special Olympics Kentucky.

Officers were joined by local law enforcement and Special Olympics supporters.
Captain Chuck Adams has been involved with the Special Olympics for more than a decade and said the athletes keep him coming back every year.
“I just think that if people get involved with Special Olympics, they’ll see how special it is and how inspiring the athletes are,” Adams said. “Their determination, their ethic, and their work ethic. And it just spills over on you, just rubs off on you.”
