Saline County Creatives featured in Gann Museum’s ‘Salty Art’ exhibit through Aug 21st

The historic Gann Museum has officially opened its doors to a vibrant new exhibition that celebrates the raw talent thriving right in our own backyard.

The exhibit, aptly titled “Salty Art,” launched on June 4 and is set to run through August 21. Located at 218 S. Market Street, the showcase is free to the public and shines a dedicated spotlight on local Saline County artists, spanning a diverse range of mediums from painters and illustrators to master potters.

For the artists, the exhibit is an opportunity to share a piece of their personal journeys. Dianne Roberts, owner of the local Dianne Roberts Art Studio and Gallery, chose to step outside her usual comfort zone for this show.

“I picked two pictures people wouldn’t usually see from me,” Roberts shared. “A pen and ink of the Ozarks, and a watercolor and colored pencil of Malvern. I just can’t get away from history!”

That sense of vulnerability is a common thread among the creators involved. Vanessa Scott, another heavily featured artist in the exhibition, emphasized the profound relationship between the community and its local creators…
