Walmart Enhances Delivery Service with Subway Sandwiches Delivered in 30 Minutes or Less

Walmart is expanding its delivery offerings by allowing customers to add Subway sandwiches to their orders, promising delivery within 30 minutes. Starting June 4, shoppers in six states can now order Subway through Walmart’s Express Delivery service, marking Walmart’s first integration of a restaurant brand into this platform.

Customers can conveniently place Subway orders via the Walmart app or website, either as standalone purchases or alongside their usual Walmart grocery and household items. This move is designed to offer greater convenience and speedy meal options for busy consumers.

The six states where this service is currently available include Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Walmart plans to roll out Subway delivery to approximately 1,400 stores nationwide by the end of summer.

Subway has been a familiar presence inside Walmart stores since 2004, making it the retailer’s largest in-store restaurant partner. This new delivery option aligns with Walmart’s broader strategy to modernize its retail experience. The company is investing in renovations for over 650 Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets and opening 20 new locations through early 2027, featuring wider aisles, updated displays, and enhanced pickup and delivery services.

Tracy Poulliot, Walmart U.S. Executive Vice President of eCommerce and Marketing, emphasized the importance of integrating everyday needs into a seamless shopping experience. “Bringing Subway delivery into the Walmart app is another way we’re using our proximity to customers and scale to make everyday decisions simpler and everyday life a little easier,” she said.

Through the Walmart app and website, eligible customers can browse the full Subway menu, customize their sandwiches, and add them to their carts. These meal orders can be combined with groceries and other essentials for convenient, consolidated delivery. For those seeking quick meal delivery, Subway orders can be delivered separately in under 30 minutes.

Damien Harmon, President of Subway North America, highlighted the partnership’s longstanding success. “The integration of Subway delivery into the Walmart app and Walmart.com is a natural evolution of our 20-year relationship built on a shared commitment to value, freshness and everyday convenience,” Harmon stated.

In addition to introducing Subway delivery, Walmart recently launched a 30-minute-or-less delivery service across 33 U.S. markets. This service offers more than 100,000 items, ranging from fresh groceries and pantry staples to baby essentials, medicine, household supplies, pet food, electronics, and prescriptions.

Markets currently served include Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta, Tampa, Oklahoma City, among others, with plans for further expansion.

This enhanced delivery initiative reflects Walmart’s ongoing commitment to meet evolving customer expectations through faster, more integrated shopping experiences.
