PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Heat and humidity return this week!
A backdoor cold front is working its way westward, from eastern North Carolina to the Piedmont, today. Highs near 90 degrees along with considerable humidity will make being outdoors uncomfortable. By mid-afternoon, scattered showers will pop up along the frontal boundary. The chance of rain is 50% and total rainfall will be less than 0.25 of an inch.
Isolated showers continue overnight with lows in the mid-60s.
Cooler temperatures are on the way Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs in the mid- to upper-80s will still feel hot since the humidity is only going to increase. While isolated (20%) showers are in the forecast for Tuesday, we will have scattered (50%) showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday.
