AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — It was a special weekend for Ryan Palmer and Sherwin Cox as they were inducted as part of the 2026 Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame class.
Cox served as the Ross Rogers golf pro for 37 years and was also the director of golf operations for the city of Amarillo. He helped a very young Palmer get kickstarted in his golf career, as he’s gone on to win four times on the PGA Tour and has qualified 36 different times for major championships.
