SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Over 8,000 people lost power due to thunderstorms on Monday morning, according to the City Utilities outage map.
As of 10 a.m., 6,748 CU customers are without power due to lightning strikes, but there were as many as over 8,200 without power at a time early Monday morning.
The CU outage map shows that the places where outages are most concentrated are in southeast Springfield at the intersection of James River Freeway and 65, the Rountree-Walnut area, areas near Chestnut east of US 65 and areas near the intersection of James River and Campbell Avenue…
