Florida authorities have confirmed that wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, passed away from natural causes. An official police report found no evidence of drugs or foul play involved in his death.

Hogan died in Clearwater on July 24, 2025, at the age of 71. Initial reports suggested a possible cardiac arrest.

In the weeks leading up to his passing, rumors circulated about his health struggles. However, his wife Sky Hogan had previously assured fans that he was strong and recovering from surgeries.

The investigation included a thorough review of medical records, statements, and surveillance footage from his residence. The report concluded there was no indication of criminal activity. An autopsy conducted in August confirmed that Hogan’s death resulted solely from natural disease, without any traumatic or toxicological factors.

Hulk Hogan’s legendary career began in the late 1970s with Championship Wrestling from Florida before moving to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1979. His rise to superstardom came after Vince McMahon acquired the WWF and positioned Hogan as the company’s marquee star. Hogan’s charismatic persona and catchphrases like “train, say your prayers, and eat your vitamins” helped fuel the phenomenon known as “Hulkamania.”

One of Hogan’s most memorable moments was his showdown with Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III, where he famously bodyslammed the 520-pound giant, an iconic moment often called “the bodyslam heard around the world.” Throughout his career, Hogan engaged in high-profile rivalries with stars such as Ric Flair, Randy Savage, and Yokozuna.

In the mid-1990s, Hogan reinvented himself in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), joining the New World Order (NWO) faction-a storyline that dominated wrestling television ratings for over a year. He later returned to WWE for a series of matches, including a notable encounter with The Rock, and also competed in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Hogan’s accolades include six WWE Championship titles, two Royal Rumble victories, induction into the WWE Hall of Fame twice-once individually in 2005 and again in 2020 as part of the NWO-along with six WCW World Heavyweight Championships and a reign as IWGP Heavyweight Champion in Japan.

Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea leaves behind a lasting legacy that helped shape the world of professional wrestling.
