Bronx tenants rally for rent freeze ahead of Rent Guidelines Board hearing

Tenant advocates gathered outside Hostos Community College on Monday ahead of a Rent Guidelines Board public hearing — demanding a rent freeze for the city’s roughly 2.4 million rent-stabilized tenants.

Organizers with the New York State Tenant Bloc, CASA and other housing advocacy groups say many New Yorkers are already struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living and cannot afford another rent increase.
