AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Both Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Amarillo Medical Specialists released updates after being unable to reach a contract agreement to continue AMS’ participation in two of the company’s coverage networks.
According to an insurance update released in May, Amarillo Medical Specialists said it was considered out of network with certain Blue Cross Blue Shield plans (Blue Choice PPO and Blue Essentials) as of May 1.
“While Blue Cross Blue Shield stated that negotiations were ongoing, we have not received a new contract proposal from them, nor have they offered to meet with us despite our multiple requests and communication attempts over the past several weeks,” said the May update from AMS. “Unfortunately, our efforts to continue discussions and reach a resolution have gone unanswered.”
