NORMAN, OKLA (KOKH) — The City of Norman is reminding residents that fireworks are banned inside city limits.
In May, Gov. Kevin Stitt signed the Rockets’ Red Glare Act which applies to private property in unincorporated areas of Oklahoma.
“Personal fireworks discharge remains prohibited in Norman City limits and could result in tickets or municipal fines,” said Fire Marshal Matthew Elliott. “Residents are welcome to attend commercial fireworks displays – such as Norman’s Fourth Fest celebration – that are permitted through the City and administered by professionals in a safe, controlled setting.”…
