Customers, friends and community supporters gathered last week to celebrate a major milestone for Sunshine Health Foods as the locally owned business marked its 50th anniversary.
The weeklong celebration honored five decades of serving the Bossier-Shreveport community and featured product demonstrations, giveaways, raffles, special discounts and charitable giving.
Founded in May 1976 by Jean Bernheim, Sunshine Health Foods opened its first location on Line Avenue in Shreveport during a time when health food stores were far less common than they are today.
