BUTLER COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) — A Butler County man originally convicted of murdering his infant son has been resentenced to time served after reaching a plea deal in the case.
Kaleb Hogan, a former El Dorado Correctional Facility officer, pleaded guilty in court in May to involuntary manslaughter. The case dates back to 2021, when Hogan’s infant son, Malykai, was found not breathing inside an Augusta apartment. The child died three days later.
Hogan was convicted in 2023 of murder and child abuse and sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after 25 years. The Kansas Supreme Court reversed that conviction last year, citing evidence that was improperly admitted at trial…
