The only emergency shelter in Augusta is close to being relocated and rebuilt thanks to a recent release of nearly $5 million in federal funding.
The Salvation Army of Augusta has received final approval for $4.8 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, allowing the charity to begin demolition and site planning for its new Center of Hope, the charity announced on Monday.
