Three Wilson Central High graduates received a financial boost in their Tennessee State University academic career after the TSU National Alumni Association’s Wilson County chapter awarded each student a $1,500 scholarship at its 12th annual scholarship banquet on June 5 at the Farm Bureau Expo Center in Lebanon.
Doctoral student CheKenna Fletcher received the scholarship for the fourth time; Macie King also received the scholarship in 2025; and incoming freshman Nayla Ostine is a first-time recipient.
Fletcher plans to graduate in December with her PhD in food science, a new doctoral program at TSU. She is a graduate research assistant and spends at least 20 hours per week in the lab, studying natural food ingredients and gut health effects…
