Storm Team 3: Falling back into the summer pattern

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – After another warm and humid day today, this pattern will continue into the rest of the workweek. Expect clouds to decrease on Tuesday, with highs near to slightly above average, reaching the upper 80s to lower 90s. Humid conditions will persist, along with the chance for a stray afternoon shower or thunderstorm.

A similar forecast is expected on Wednesday, with warm temperatures, plenty of humidity, and stray storm chances. By the end of the week, rain chances increase slightly, with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible Thursday and more scattered rain and storms for Friday and the weekend. Despite the added rain chances, conditions will remain hot and humid, with highs continuing in the lower 90s.

Heat index values could climb into the upper 90s later this week, so be sure to stay cool and hydrated. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and try to limit prolonged or strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.

As for hurricane season, we’re continuing to monitor a quiet start across the Atlantic Basin, with no tropical development expected over the next seven days…
