Madison plans to extend downtown sidewalks with a nearly $665,000 federal grant

MADISON, Miss. (WLBT) – The city of Madison is moving forward with a plan to extend pedestrian sidewalks along Main Street, using a nearly $665,000 federal grant from the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).

Pete Vozzo, senior director of operations for the city of Madison, said the new sidewalk will run along the south side of Main Street, picking up where the existing walkway ends near the city’s Welcome Center and continuing past the Botanic Gardens to the railroad tracks.
