GRANITE CITY, Ill. – Granite City, located across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, is known as a steel making town. But a little bit of Tinseltown is starting to take shape here.
On Monday, civic leaders gathered in Granite City for a look inside Hollywood River Studios.
“This is going to be partially a studio,” says Chris Breakwell, president & CEO Hollywood River Studios. “The ceiling height and clear span is perfect for building sets and also going to be a good height for lighting above the sets. But it’s also going to be a base camp. In Wood River, we’re building six purpose-built brand-new studios up there. But this will also be a basecamp to cross the river and go film in downtown St. Louis.”…
