Jacksonville braces for intense weekend heat: Heat index could near 108, spotty showers expected

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hey folks, it’s Katie Garner from The Weather Authority. I want you to know we are keeping a close eye on what’s coming for the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued an important heads up: the heat index for Jacksonville is expected to reach between 104 and 108 degrees from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. This is when it will feel hottest, and taking care of yourself—and your pets—will be vital if you’re spending time outdoors.

We’re talking about highs near 94 on Saturday and 93 on Sunday. These “feels like” temps can be especially tough during those prime beach hours.

Spotty showers, then back to sunshine
