‘Could have lost my life’ Knox County man, semi-truck driver describe I-275 crash

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A drive home from work went wrong on Friday, forcing one driver to make a split-second decision. Braden McGill was driving northbound on I-275 when a semi-truck going the other way crashed, sending debris flying across the divider.

“I just hear this boom, this giant boom. I look to my left where I heard the boom from. I just see this big roll just flying straight at my vehicle,” said McGill.

McGill had to think fast, cranking his wheel all the way to the right, his tires screeching against the asphalt, then he yanked the wheel all the way to the left, dodging what looked like a giant roll of paper towel traveling southbound.

“I started seeing my wall, like, deform and push outward,” said Truck driver Sam Parker. “And next thing I know, it started peeling apart. I started seeing the, each bale stock rolling out one by one. Each one of them were just falling.”…
