BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Getting from Point A to Point B in Baldwin County can be a challenge.

“It’s just got worse and worse since we’ve been here,” said Jerris Beaird, who has lived in Baldwin County since 2015.
Roads and bridges, growth in general, are on the minds of voters with runoff elections looming. Political newcomer Joe Freeman takes on incumbent State Representative Frances Holk Jones for the House District 95 seat in the legislature, and there is a county commission seat up for grabs between Brett Gaar and John Tater Harris.
“People who live down here have to drive on all the back roads; you can’t even get out on the open roads and go anywhere. They just keep on building houses and more houses and more houses,” added Beaird.
Baldwin County is the fastest-growing area in Alabama and one of the fastest-growing counties in the country. Voters aren’t necessarily against folks moving here; they just want their elected officials to do a better job keeping up with that growth.
“Love the growth, love the increase in the finances, but the infrastructure really needs to improve as far as where we are at right now,” said C.J. McBride.

“We have a lot of people moving in, which is fine, but it would be nice if we could slow down on the building,” said Lisa Bassett.
Voters will decide who they want to address those growing pains when they head back to the polls. The runoff election is Tuesday, June 16…
