The Poarch Creek Indians, Alabama’s only federally recognized tribe, is asking the developer of an industrial-scale solar project in north Baldwin County to talk with the tribe about the cultural and historical significance of its proposed project site.
“We believe those of us who will ultimately live with the consequences of major development decisions deserve a meaningful voice in conversations about the future of our communities,” said the Poarch Creek Indians in a news release.
