Melville drug bust nets 2 suspects; kilo of cocaine found hidden in trash pile

MELVILLE, La. (NEWS 15) — A joint investigation by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and United States Postal Inspectors led to two arrests and the seizure of a kilo of cocaine hidden in a Melville backyard, according to authorities.

Willie Williams Jr., 40, of Maringouin, and Tabitha Wiltz, 27, of Melville, are both charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and obstruction of justice.

Sheriff Bobby Guidroz reported that narcotic detectives and SWAT assets learned of cocaine trafficking in Melville and executed a search warrant at a home on Victor Street on Monday, June 8.
