Additional tornadoes confirmed from storms that hit the Ozarks Sunday evening

The Springfield National Weather Service continues to investigate storm damage from Sunday’s storms and has found evidence of more tornadoes.

The count is now up to five separate tornadoes. The first to be confirmed was just east of Battlefield, an EF-0, that touched down briefly with 70 mph winds.

A tornado was also found to have struck just east of Sparta in Christian County with winds up to 94 mph. A separate tornado touched down briefly in Southwest Christian County near Spokane with winds up to 74 mph.

Two additional tornadoes were also verified in Western Douglas County. The first touched down southeast of Ongo, travelling for over 2 miles with winds up to 100 mph. It was rated an EF-1…
