Meridian Woman Arrested After Nampa Pickup Incident Leaves One Dead

NAMPA, ID — A 46-year-old Nampa man died after falling from the bed of a moving pickup truck Saturday, and the driver has been arrested on multiple charges, according to the Nampa Police Department.

Police said dispatchers received several 911 calls on June 6 reporting that a man had fallen from the back of a moving pickup and was injured in the roadway. Officers arrived to find Miguel Martinez, 46, of Nampa, unresponsive and began CPR before detecting a pulse. Nampa Fire Department personnel and Canyon County Paramedics continued lifesaving efforts before Martinez was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators said Martinez was riding in the bed of a Toyota Tundra along with three children when an item was dropped from the moving vehicle. Passengers attempted to alert the driver, but the truck accelerated instead of slowing down. Martinez subsequently fell from the vehicle…
