Fatal crashes prompt Eugene police blitz on Hwy. 99

EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene Police is planning a multi-agency enforcement operation on Highway 99 on June 25 to address ongoing vehicle and pedestrian safety issues.

Officers will focus on different safety concerns along the corridor. From Royal Avenue to Bethel Drive, teams will conduct traffic enforcement for speed, seatbelt use and distracted driving. From Roosevelt Boulevard to Royal Avenue, other officers will focus on pedestrian crossing violations.

EPD Housing Support officers, Community Service Officers and other units will support the enforcement teams.
