There’s an increase in people experiencing homelessness in Fresno, Madera counties

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The number of people experiencing homelessness in Fresno and Madera counties increased by 9.2% according to the 2025 Point in Time (PIT) Count, but local officials say a new counting method could provide a more accurate picture of the region’s homeless population.

The PIT count is used to help guide local efforts to help those without homes; the most recent numbers report 4,905 people experienced homelessness.
