Man convicted of 2021 murder in Carmichael receives 61-year prison term

(FOX40.COM) —  A judge has sentenced a man convicted of a 2021 deadly shooting in Carmichael to serve 61 years to life in prison, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced on June 1.

Around 2:10 p.m. on June 21, 2021, Larell Weathers confronted a man who was in a dispute with his sister at an apartment in the 5800 block of Sutter Avenue in Carmichael. Armed with a loaded handgun, he forced the man to sit on a bench outside the front door.

As another man, Marcellus Cory Baker-Lee, began to open his front door, Weathers shot at him multiple times, the district attorney’s office said. Baker-Lee was pronounced dead at the scene…
