Central New York faces multiple rounds of thunderstorms through Friday, some potentially severe, as temperatures climb into the upper 80s to low 90s with increasing humidity making it feel even hotter.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop on Wednesday afternoon across the region as a low pressure system moves through from the Great Lakes. The storms could produce damaging winds from heavy rain-driven downdrafts, small hail and isolated flash flooding in areas hit by slow-moving or multiple storms.
The National Weather Service says the threat will be greatest during the afternoon and evening hours.
