Norman City Council to discuss controversial front yard tent permits

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — A proposal for homeowners to apply for a permit allowing unhoused individuals to set up tents in their front yards is getting pushback from residents, legislators, and Norman city officials.

“You’re just putting them in a tent in your front yard on display like a yard ornament, and that’s not okay,” Trey Kirby, the Councilman for Ward 5, said.
