Shreveport’s pools — most of them — are open again after a year of work upgrading them so they’re safer and more kid-friendly.
Shreveport reopened most of its pools for the summer Tuesday with two more openings planned for the end of June. The city’s five public pools all have undergone major upgrades to modernize the decades-old facilities which an expert’s analysis found weren’t family friendly.
The public pools at the Bill Cockrell and David Raines recreation centers and Querbes officially reopened Tuesday for the summer swim season. SPAR on June 30 will reopen the pools at Airport and Southern Hills parks after finishing up renovations alike to those done at the other sites…
