Aurora fire rescue officials contain garage blaze, prevent spread to home, neighbors

AURORA | A house-garage fire damaged an Aurora home Tuesday night, displacing two adults, but firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading into the home and onto neighboring residences, Aurora Fire Rescue officials said.

The fire was reported at about 5 p.m. in the 18300 block of East Cornell Place after neighbors called 911 to report seeing and smelling smoke coming from an attached two-car garage.

Firefighters responding to the scene could see smoke in the air and the fire in the garage. Crews entered the house, brought the fire under control and searched the home, determining that no one was inside…
