Smith & Wesson planning an overnight stay facility by Maryville HQ

A major gunmaker that moved to Maryville in 2023 hopes to offer its guests overnight stays near its Blount County headquarters.

Smith & Wesson is getting closer to that goal. The gunmaker, a leader in the U.S. firearms market, posted a gross profit of $127 million in 2025. Now, it’s putting some funds into creating a convenient experience for its customers and workers, who are dispersed across the country.

In late May the company got initial permission to add a 13,500-square-foot building to its 234-acre Maryville campus of manufacturing facilities and corporate offices. Renderings of the proposed lodge show a single-story building with 12 rooms for overnight stays…
