Manteca daycare owner, drunk on job, admits guilt in 2025 infant death

A Manteca home-based day care owner pleaded guilty this week to involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment in connection with the 2025 death of a 5-month-old boy.

On Oct. 22, 2025, Roxanne Helus was arrested in connection with the death of Christian Olvera − an infant who was in her care while she was intoxicated. The infant died from an anoxic brain injury.

Helus could face a six year sentence in state prison. She will be sentenced July 17…
