Longtime inclusive Syracuse preschool’s state license suspended, immediately shut down for violations

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A 57-year-old preschool in Syracuse, known as a pioneer in inclusive education, has had its childcare license suspended by state regulators, forcing it to shut down immediately.

The 172 families with students enrolled at the Jowonio School on East Genesee Street were informed by email of the sudden closure on Tuesday, June 10.
