Wood River man charged after Pontoon Beach tentmate suffers brain bleeds

EDWARDSVILLE — A Wood River man listed as homeless was charged Monday after allegedly beating and severely injuring another man he was sharing a tent with in Pontoon Beach.

The victim was initially treated at Gateway Regional Medical Center, then transferred to Barnes Jewish Hospital with two separate brain bleeds, broken facial muscles, blood pooling under an eye, and other injuries.
