SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Police arrested a man early Monday morning after he resisted arrest and fought with officers during a traffic stop.
Terrence Courtney Jr., 31, from Springfield, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and misdemeanor driving while revoked.
According to the probable cause statement, at approximately 12:15 a.m., an SPD officer tried to make a traffic stop on a blue Ford Bronco that was sporting expired tags on Catalpa Street from Douglas Avenue.
While the officer was getting behind the Bronco, the vehicle immediately turned onto Broadway Avenue and continued driving. The officer says he believed the driver knew he was being followed and was trying to avoid them. The officer eventually had to activate their sirens to get the Bronco to stop on Douglas Avenue…
