A federal prosecutor is encouraging Las Cruces leaders to pursue a new Department of Justice funding opportunity that could bring millions of dollars to local public safety and crime-prevention efforts.
In a statement released Tuesday, F.A. United States Attorney Ryan Ellison urged Albuquerque and Las Cruces to apply for the Department of Justice’s Model City Initiative, a competitive grant program expected to provide between $75 million and $150 million to selected cities.
