SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Six beavers were successfully relocated after “causing a ruckus” by digging too much into city canal banks.
After the beavers were found digging into city canal banks and chomping willows in a local community, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) said, “These tiny engineers needed a change of scenery and a more appropriate location for their hard work.”
The little creatures were trapped onsite before spending a short time with the Beaver Ecology & Relocation Center to prepare them for the move.
The U.S. Forest Service informed the relocators of an area near Bear Lake that was in need of beaver restoration. The rugged terrain proved to be too much for the trucks, so horses were brought in to assist.
