Baltimore, MD (JK) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has started a major rehabilitation project on the Route 15 bridge over the Potomac River in the Point of Rocks area at the Maryland-Virginia state line.
The project includes cleaning, painting and repairs to the two-lane, eight-span camelback truss bridge, which was originally built in 1939. The improvements are designed to maintain the bridge’s structural integrity and safety.
Symmetric Painting, LLC of Elkton is performing the work. Crews will work overnight throughout the project, with single-lane closures and flagging operations maintaining two-way traffic across the bridge, which handles approximately 23,000 vehicles per day…
