Inspired by ‘Rocky,’ Staten Island filmmaker finds success through determination

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Award-winning filmmaker Tramelle Stroman’s favorite movie is Rocky IV. He has seen it over 500 times.

“It taught me how to overcome obstacles,” Stroman said. “It is a perfect form of storytelling— a roller coaster ride of emotion. I love underdog stories. I watched that movie over and over again.”
