EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso Water is moving forward with replacing the 36-inch water main that broke in January and left thousands of Northeast El Paso residents without water.
During Wednesday’s Public Service Board meeting, the utility said it will replace the pipeline system that failed in January with a new pipeline.
The break happened when one of its 36-inch mains failed and released millions of gallons of water into the area, draining 15 reservoirs and affecting over 100,000 residents. Following the rupture, El Paso Water said it has been conducting studies aimed at preventing a similar failure, as the utility said it has surveyed water lines in the area to identify sections that may need improvements…
