WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The summer is drawing mosquitoes out across Kansas, but the Sedgwick County Health Department is offering a service that can cut their numbers.
The department said Wednesday that it is offering free mosquito dunks, which kill mosquito larvae.
A mosquito dunk is done by putting a donut-shaped chunk of insecticide in standing water. The dunk contains bacteria that is toxic to mosquitoes, but it is not harmful to people or pets.
