Weld County Recognizes June as Reunification Month

Weld County officials are recognizing June as Reunification Month, focusing on efforts to help families remain together and celebrating parents and children who have successfully reunited after involvement with the child welfare system.

The Weld County Board of Commissioners formally proclaimed June as Reunification Month this week as part of a nationwide observance focused on family preservation and child welfare reunification. According to a Weld County news release, the county will honor families who have reunified and recognize the professionals, foster parents, and community organizations that support them.

The observance also offers a look at how child welfare cases are handled in Weld County. The Department of Human Services closed 126 child welfare cases in 2025, with nearly half resulting in children remaining safely in their homes.
