Asheville man pleads guilty to 10 child exploitation charges, sentenced to prison

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — An Asheville man was sentenced to between 2.2 and 7.7 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple child exploitation charges involving children between the ages of 2 and 10.

The Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office said Bruce Ellison McCall, 65, pleaded guilty June 1, 2026, to five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Prosecutors said the investigation into McCall began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent a tip to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.
