HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Staff and patients at a Hopkinsville hospital were impacted Wednesday evening when a suspect who was being transported to the jail assaulted hospital security and law enforcement.
On June 10 just before 4:30 p.m., deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on Terry Lane in reference to a man who was previously trespassed from the property. 32-year-old Johnathan Ghrist of Clarksville, Tennessee was placed under arrest, and transport began to the Christian County Jail.
While in the patrol car, Ghrist made threatening statements to the arresting deputy by saying he would shoot him when he was released from the jail. An arrest report says the suspect began banging his head on the partition glass, causing a severe injury to himself…
