The Columbus Police Department is sharing the results of enforcement efforts conducted in Uptown Columbus on Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6. Throughout the weekend, officers maintained a visible presence in Uptown, engaged with businesses and community members, conducted traffic enforcement, and addressed concerns involving unsupervised minors and other quality-of-life issues.
The weekend response resulted in the following:
- Responded to 13 dispatched calls for service
- Conducted 86 self-initiated traffic stops
- Issued 13 citations
- Issued 44 warning citations
- Made 28 business contacts
- Made contact with 138 adults
- Made contact with 75 minors
- Completed 13 police reports
- Made 8 adult arrests
- Recovered approximately 3.5 grams of marijuana and three vape devices
Officers also addressed several incidents involving minors throughout the weekend. In multiple cases, officers encountered young teens who were unsupervised and unable to contact a parent or guardian. Officers worked to identify the minors and ensure they were safely returned home…
